Bottrop, May 29, 2015. From 22 to 28 May 2015, MC-Bauchemie participated at the World Tunnel Congress (WTC) in Dubrovnik. The Croatian Association for Tunnels and Underground Structures ITA Croatia had invited the tunneling world to the beautiful city on the southern coast of Croatia and set its focus on the development and further expansion of underground infrastructure in Southeast Europe.
MC-Bauchemie, which, for many years, is represented by its own companies in Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Bulgaria, showed its product systems and its extensive expertise in the construction and repair of tunnels: from concrete admixtures to steel fiber reinforced shotcrete and soil conditioners up to injection technologies, surface protection and concrete repair systems.
Dr.-Ing. Götz Vollmann, Department for Tunnelling, Line Construction and Construction (TLB) at Ruhr-University Bochum (Germany), gave a well-received lecture on "Development of a highly ductile sprayed concrete as a counter-measure for explosion and fire impacts on underground structures", which he has written together with the co-authors Prof. Dr.-Ing Markus Thewes, Chair Department for Tunnelling, Line Construction and Construction (TLB) at Ruhr-University Bochum, and Eugen Kleen, professional mineralogist and Head of Research & Development in Mineral Construction Materials and Concrete Additives at MC-Bauchemie.
This high-performance sprayed concrete has been developed together with MC-Bauchemie and equally provides a high resilience against specific threats like fire or explosion and also has a high level of applicability even under difficult spatial conditions.
